Chemical Peel

A chemical peel is a skin-resurfacing procedure that uses a chemical solution to remove the outer layers of the skin. This treatment aims to improve the skin's appearance by addressing various skin concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne, uneven skin tone, and scars.

The treatment itself can be tailored to the individual skin needs / concerns and specific goals through a variety of different products. 

There are three main types of chemical peels, categorized by their depth:

Superficial Peels:

Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) Peels: Use glycolic acid, lactic acid, or fruit acids to gently exfoliate the outermost layer of skin. Ideal for treating fine lines, dull skin, mild pigmentation, and breakouts.

Salicylic Acid Peels: Penetrate oil and debris in pores, effectively treating and preventing acne and improving skin texture.

Enzyme Peels: Use enzymes from sources like papaya and pineapple to digest dead skin cells, brightening skin tone and unclogging pores

Medium-Depth Peels:

Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) Peels: Penetrate the epidermis and upper part of the dermis, causing more visible exfoliation and skin shedding to reveal newer skin. Effective for treating deeper wrinkles, acne scars, and uneven pigmentation 

Deep Peels:

Phenol Peels: Penetrate deeper layers of the skin and are used for more severe skin concerns like deep wrinkles, scars, and precancerous growths. These peels require a longer recovery time and are usually performed under medical supervision.

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that aims to rejuvenate the skin by stimulating collagen production. This treatment involves using a device with fine, sterilised needles to create tiny punctures in the skin's surface, which triggers the body's natural healing process. Microneedling can be used within a treatment plan in combination with chemical peels or mesotherapy. Depending upon your main concerns will depend on if a targeted solution is included to penetrate the skin cells to help Individual treatment plans will be developed depending on the individuals desired outcome.
